Breath: Massage from the Inside Out

"Take a deep breath" is sage advice when we are feeling overwhelmed. Attending or following the breath is a key practice in meditation and other mindfulness practices. Developing a breathing practice is a good support for life -- reducing anxiety, increasing energy and massaging your body from the inside. Breathing is a whole-body integration, requiring cooperation of all your body systems, including bones, muscles and organs. Each week we will examine one aspect of breathing, building skills for developing mindfulness and deepening engagement with the landscapes of our bodies. By regularly attending this class, you will build your own breath practice that can support any work that you do.
