Amanda took a strong interest in traditional healing arts at an early age. Her family and friends encouraged this inclination, introducing her to mediation, art, music, and energy work. As a teenage, family requested bodywork and energy work for headaches and back pain regularly. Laying on of hands felt very natural and comfortable.
As a CSCC graduate and licensed massage therapist, Amanda is skilled in Swedish Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Sports Massage, Hot Stone Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy, Komyo Reiki Kai , and Nurturing the Mother® Pre-Natal Massage. She has also completed an apprenticeship in Ashiatsu Acupressure with Kim Fortier, as translated from Shizuko Yamamot's Barefoot Shiatsu style.
Through receiving massage, bodywork and energy work, experiencing child birth and rearing, and assisting in elder/end of life care, Amanda has gained an even deeper respect for the body's abilities and its rhythms. This wisdom is revealed in her therapeutic work.
